I am thrilled to announce the successful redevelopment and launch of SportsOne.ca, a Canadian online sports media platform delivering local, international, and Fiji sports news to its audience. The site also features expert opinions and analyses, frequently published in Fiji’s local newspapers.
One of the biggest challenges of this project was data migration. The previous site was built on Joomla V1, with an outdated structure that required custom scripts to seamlessly integrate posts, images, and categories into WordPress via APIs. Overcoming this hurdle was a true test of my technical expertise, and I couldn’t be prouder of the outcome!
The newly designed site now delivers:
✅ Live events & real-time soccer updates
✅ Comprehensive sports coverage from Fiji & the global arena
✅ Breaking news via live blogs supporting text, images, videos, live streams & audio
✅ Custom & Google Ads integration for revenue generation
This is a huge milestone for me, marking my second major achievement in designing & developing a news platform, following the success of the Fijivillage App.
